Hercules Avenue Sidewalk Improvements
Project ID# 002686A
Hercules Avenue, from Sherwood Street to Sunset Point Road, Clearwater
To enhance pedestrian safety along the roadway, the existing, broken sidewalk will be replaced, and fully upgraded to be ADA-compliant. Modifications will be made where the sidewalk intersects existing driveways and the curb ramps will be improved.
The result of the project will improve pedestrian accessibility by providing a new sidewalk on both sides of the road to fill in the gaps according to the project limits. Where the new sidewalk is constructed, an unpaved, six-foot shoulder will be also be constructed, along with drainage improvements. Separated pedestrian structures will be constructed at the Alligator Creek crossings. The project will also provide better transit accommodations at the PSTA bus stops.
A Neighborhood Project Information Meeting was held in November 2019 to provide citizens with project details, garner input and answer questions.
