Solid Waste Collection

Municipalities

Municipalities within Pinellas County are responsible for providing solid waste collection services to their residences. Some cities have a Sanitation Department that performs this service while other cities choose to contract it out.

Unincorporated Pinellas County

Residents in the unincorporated county can bring their garbage to the landfill or they can contract directly with one of the local sanitation companies for garbage service.

The landfill is located at 3095 114th Avenue North, St. Petersburg.

Franchised Collections

Pinellas County provides franchised solid waste collection through a Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU). Residents that are interested in creating an MSBU can learn more about the process by reviewing the MSBU Process or the FAQs.

Lealman Solid Waste Collection and Disposal District

The Lealman Solid Waste Collection and Disposal District receives garbage collection through a Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU).
