CONTACT INFORMATION: Water main leak affecting McMullen Booth traffic Southbound lanes to close from Tampa Road to Curlew RoadThe southbound lanes of County Road 611–East Lake Road/McMullen-Booth Road—are being closed by approximately 5:00 PM from Tampa Road to Curlew Road due to a water main leak. A contractor is evaluating the extent of the failure and has determined that the leaking pipe is a drinking water main. The affected water main is being closed however no service interruption to customers is anticipated. The pipelines in that area are approximately 20 feet below ground. Once the situation has been assessed, the repairs are anticipated to take several days. During the repair, southbound traffic will be detoured to Tampa Road, then west to U.S. Highway 19 North and south to Curlew Road, then east to McMullen Booth (for motorists wishing to continue on McMullen-Booth Road). Motorists can expect delays and congestion and, if possible, should avoid the area altogether. U.S. Highway 19 North or Belcher Road can be used as alternate northbound/southbound routes.
