Water main break isolated

The section of the potable water main that was damaged this morning has been isolated. After unearthing the area around the broken pipe, it was found to be a 42-inch water main that was hit by a contractor working on US 19, south of Allen’s Creek. Two small businesses in the area are without water but Utilities crews are working to restore water service to the affected customers.

Repair work is expected to take several days to complete. Traffic flow on US 19 is not being affected.
