Chlorine Leak Contained at South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility

August 27, 2007

A chlorine tank delivered to the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility experienced a minor leak Friday night, August 24. Emergency Services and HAZMAT were called to the scene. No injuries occurred as a result of this minute leak.

The facility is located at 7401 54th Avenue North in St. Petersburg. HAZMAT evaluated the situation and drained the leaking tank. The tank is within a fully enclosed building which is capable of cleaning any chlorine which escapes from the tank.
