CONTACT INFORMATION: Wastewater Spill in Belleair BeachMay 31, 2007 Belleair Beach, Fla— The rupture of a 6-inch force main on Hibiscus Drive West, near Howard Drive, today (May 31, 2007) resulted in a wastewater spill. The spill is estimated to be less than 500 gallons. With the rupture occurring during normal line-cleaning maintenance, the spilled wastewater is in a diluted state. Utilities crews have contained the spill and are working to repair the line. The line should be returned to normal service by 5 p.m. this evening. Water Quality is currently taking samples to determine the impact on area storm drainage canals and the Intracoastal Waterway. Traffic should not be affected.
