Belleair Pipeline Project Update - Construction Continues
Initial construction of the Pinellas County Utilities Belleair Pipeline Project began in November 2006. The project started at the south end in Seminole (south of Park Blvd.) and moved northward in small increments up to the new pump station in the Town of Belleair. Two horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines were used to minimize disruption to the Pinellas Trail and roadways.
The recently completed north-south force main and the new Belleair pump station were placed into operation on December 10, 2007. Work on an east-west branch force main from the pump station on Indian Rocks Road at McKay Creek continues. It will be completed and placed into service in mid-March.
