The PCU General Maintenance Department is responsible for the
construction and maintenance of the water and sewer system infrastructure.
The dedicated folks you see repairing fire hydrants, broken pipes and
valves, and other Utility owned equipment are the backbone of our General
Maintenance Department.
Backflow/Reclaimed Water identifies and eliminates cross
connections between potable and any other source of water.
Investigates pressure and flow problems for potable and reclaimed
water. Inspects reclaimed water projects prior to connections.
Tests fire hydrants for flow and pressure. Tests numerous
types and brands of backflow prevention devices (approximately
17,000 annually) and repair them as needed. Adjusts and repairs
pressure regulations and pressure relief valves.
