Water and Sewer – Manages the water and wastewater treatment facility operations, the water quality monitoring and laboratory functions, including the Industrial Pretreatment Program and Grease Management Program; the operation of the distribution, collection and transmission systems; and enforcement of water restrictions. This division also provides educational presentations to the general public. Utilities Financial Assistance

- Water Resources: - Pinellas County Utilities’ customers receive potable (drinking) water from sources managed by the regional water supplier, Tampa Bay Water.
- Keller Water Treatment Facility: Responsible for the treatment and distribution of approximately 55-60 million gallons per day (MGD) of potable (drinking) water for more than 900,000 residents and visitors of Pinellas County.
- Keller employees are responsible for the operation, treatment and pumping of the drinking water supply. Professionally licensed water treatment plant operators staff the facility 24 hours a day over three shifts. Electrical and mechanical technicians keep the equipment operating and in good repair.
- The water treatment facility staff also provides maintenance and repair support for the Cross Bar and Al Bar Ranch well fields; the North, Logan, Capri Isle and Gulf Beach Booster Stations; the Oakhurst standpipe and the Fort De Soto elevated storage tank.
- Keller Water Treatment Facility: Responsible for the treatment and distribution of approximately 55-60 million gallons per day (MGD) of potable (drinking) water for more than 900,000 residents and visitors of Pinellas County.
- Monitoring & Laboratory: Responsible for providing water quality monitoring, laboratory analysis, evaluation and reporting services in support of the water and wastewater treatment facilities. The section is tasked with ensuring that safe drinking water is provided to the citizens of Pinellas County, as well as to evaluate environmental impacts of multiple wastewater treatment disposal methods. The section includes a full-service certified laboratory equipped with state of the art instrumentation for the analysis of drinking water, wastewater, environmental surface and ground water and biosolids. The Laboratory Unit coordinates with a contract laboratory for organic analysis, non-aqueous matrices, or other special analytical requests.
- Water Reclamation Facility: Reclaimed water is provided by
William E. Dunn and South Cross Bayou wastewater reclamation facilities. This water has been cleaned and purified through an advanced wastewater treatment process that eliminates harmful by-products.
