Pinellas County Utilities offices will close to the public Monday, Feb. 15, for In-Service Day. The day will be used for department training and projects. Regular business will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The scalehouse and HEC3 facility at Solid Waste Operations will be open regular hours on Monday, Feb.15, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Water Conservation Rates
Pinellas County Utilities is exploring the development of a conservation rate structure to better manage excessive water use. Late Payment Fee
As of February 1, 2010 new fees are in effect for customers who receive services from Pinellas County Utilities, including the Late Payment Fee for bills not paid by the Delinquent After (due) date as noted on the bill. [ more Info ] Franchised Waste Collection. The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) has adopted a resolution which begins the three year process of establishing franchise solid waste collection. At a minimum, if approved at all stages of development, residential waste collection services would be provided to all the unincorporated county, and franchises would be awarded to one or more haulers. Unincorporated residents currently choose from a list of independent haulers and contract for services individually. Pinellas County Utilities Rate Changes Approved. Changes to Pinellas County Utilities wholesale and retail sewer and water rates, and retail reclaimed water rates have been approved by the Board of county Commissioners. The new rates are effective October 1, 2009. [ more info The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) voted to allow the water restrictions to return to the Modified Phase II (Severe) Water Shortage restrictions in the Tampa Bay Water service area starting January 1, 2010.
