New Recycling Drop-Off Center in East Lake
July 16, 2009
Pinellas County, Fla – Recycling just got easier for Palm Harbor residents with the opening of a new recycling center at the East Lake Community Library.
The new East Lake Recycling Drop-Off Center is located in the parking lot of the East Lake Community Library, 4125 East Lake Rd., Palm Harbor. Residents can drop off recyclables at the center 24 hours/7 days a week (no charge).
The new center was established in response to requests from citizens who frequent the busy drop-off center at John Chesnut Sr. Park in Palm Harbor, which collects over 40 tons of recyclables a month.
At the Pinellas County Drop-Off Recycling Centers, only minimal sorting of items is needed. There are just two sorting categories: “paper” and “containers.” In the bin labeled “paper,” customers can recycle any dry paper item that tears including newspaper, phone books, magazines, junk mail, cardboard, paperboard (such as cereal boxes), shredded paper, etc. In the bin labeled “containers,” customers can recycle cans and bottles including aluminum, plastic, and steel (no glass please).
Pinellas County Utilities now offers a total of 14 recycling drop-off centers at locations throughout the county. Many municipalities also provide curbside or drop-off recycling.
