Sponsorship Description: Pepper Fest is an established event of 12 years, previously held by the Beckett Lake Nursery in Clearwater. Pinellas County has taken over this event and moved it to scenic, beachfront Sand Key Park at the south end of Clearwater Beach. The event will take place on June 2 and 3, 2007. The focus of this free event is still to give amateur cooks a chance to compete in the hot sauce and salsa contests.

By being part of this event, you'll support a weekend of family fun and a celebration of the hot cuisine we all know and love. A sample of the events planned for Pepper Fest 2007 includes: vendor tables featuring hot sauces, salsas, grills and other unique items that can be sampled and purchased; sample tastes from local eateries of their favorite recipes using peppers and salsa; free amateur competitions featuring hot sauce and salsa recipes (limited to 30 contenders each day); grill-off showdown judged by celebrities; live entertainment including bands, salsa dancing and strolling entertainers; and children's area featuring balloon fun, rub-on tattoos, games and more to keep little hands busy.
