Description: Pinellas County
Utilities in seeking an in-kind donation
of an all-expenses paid weekend stay
at a resort hotel or motel that has
implemented water conservation business
practices. This donation will serve
as the grand prize of a 2006 National
Drinking Water Week promotion. Benefits
to sponsors may include inclusion of
business name and/or logo in all multi-media
advertising for Drinking Water Week
and promotional opportunities such
as radio, television and print associated
with the marketing of the below-mentioned
special events.
In cooperation with the City of Clearwater,
Pinellas County Utilities is seeking
to enter a partnership with a resort
hotel or motel to raise community awareness
about the importance of water conservation.
To celebrate National Drinking Water
Week and the importance of water and
water conservation, Pinellas County
Utilities will staff an informational
booth at the City of Clearwater's Jazz
Festival and Florida Orchestra performance
on April 22 and 23, respectively, and
the May 6 Fun-n-Sun Parade. Historically,
these events have been well attended
by citizens from across the Tampa Bay
area, thereby creating an opportunity
to expose the water conservation message
and the partnership between the public
and private sector in conserving water.
To encourage citizens to visit the
booth and thereby increase the opportunity
to share important water conservation
information with our citizens, Pinellas
County Utilities will offer the chance
to win a grand prize. Along with the
dissemination of informational packets
and face-to-face education time, numbered
tickets will be distributed at the
April 22 and 23 special events. The
winning number will be displayed on
a banner attached to a Pinellas County
Utilities vehicle which will be driven
in the May 6 Fun-n-Sun Parade.
