Development – Pinellas County has developed
new initiatives designed to address the growing
challenges of ensuring affordable housing
in the community. These initiatives include
local development regulatory revisions, inclusionary
housing, the establishment of a County Land
Trust, and a Housing Trust Fund.

– Pinellas County offers low-interest rehabilitation
loans designed to preserve existing housing
units and improve neighborhoods. These loan
products are available for owner-occupied
housing, as well as rental units.

communities. These centers help residents
deal with important issues and serve as a
vital resource to neighborhood associations,
crime watch groups and homeowners associations.

By Design – Economic Development - Pinellas’ Plan for Community Redevelopment
- The Pinellas community has embarked on a
unique redevelopment strategy to manage population
growth, preserve quality of life, and foster
business development. The redevelopment plan
will preserve greenspace; enhance the quality
of downtowns, public parks and recreation
facilities; facilitate new construction projects;
and renovate older commercial/industrial buildings
for a variety of mixed uses.
