To view Pinellas County marinas that have received Clean Marina certification, select:
Boater Benefits:
The Clean Marina Program offers published materials, seminars, and activities to help boaters protect our waterways and marine life from pollution. Participating boaters and marina staff learn:
- how to prevent pollution of our water
- how to comply with environmental rules and regulations
- how to identify environmentally-friendly marinas
- how to respond to pollution violations and emergency situations
Marina Benefits:
Participating marinas receive technical assistance to help them protect their local environment, improve public services, and meet the standards that will provide them with a Clean Marina designation. Specialized training and materials help marinas establish or improve:
- sewage pump-out stations
- fueling centers
- solid waste collection systems
- maintenance and facility operations
Marina staff receive information and training on:
- signage directing boaters to recycling services at marina facilities
- preventing oil, fuel and sewage discharges
- safe boating products
Each Pinellas County marina accepted into the program receives:
- a Clean Marina flag they can fly proudly from their flagpole
- a sign indicating that the marina is certified as a Clean Marina
- local and state recognition (listing on state and county websites, public service announcements, press releases, etc.)
- assistance in negotiating with regulating and funding agencies
- networking opportunities with the marine industry and other marinas
- help in acquiring educational resources (such as brochures and signs)
- a discount on their submerged land lease
