Pinellas County Commissioner Ken Welch will host the next community office hours on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the St. Petersburg College West Community Library, first floor room LI142, 6700 Eighth Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
The Community Office Hours program allows Pinellas residents to voice their opinions, ideas and concerns relating to county issues, without having to travel to the County Courthouse in downtown Clearwater.
No appointment is necessary; the commissioner will meet with constituents on a first-come, first-served basis.
Commissioner Ken Welch was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2000 and re-elected in 2004 and 2008. District 7 encompasses south Pinellas County, including Lealman, Gulfport, South Pasadena and much of St. Petersburg.
Some of the issues being discussed by the Board of County Commissioners in 2011 include transportation/light rail, human services/housing/homeless services, EMS restructuring, annexation and countywide budget cuts
