RESTORE Act
PINELLAS COUNTY RESTORE ACT
DIRECT COMPONENT
Project IDEA Submittal
Dear Pinellas County Partners:
The Gulf Coast Restoration Trust Fund will provide funds to five Gulf Coast states from Clean Water Act (CWA) civil fines and penalties. The funds will be used to restore the environment and economy of the Gulf Coast above and beyond the environmental and economic impacts associated with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has provided a summary of the RESTORE Act passed in 2012.
Project Idea Submittals Requested:
Pinellas County is continuing to request project ideas for the Direct Component funding source for individuals and organizations not interested in submitting a project proposal but who would like to share ideas with county staff. Project ideas from citizens provide a means to assess public input on the use of RESTORE Act funds. Project ideas submitted without a corresponding proposal will be considered for development into project proposals by county staff.
Projects eventually selected for funding must be within the county or benefit the county and/or its adjacent bay, coastal and Gulf waters. Projects should also benefit the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem. Submitted ideas should address county RESTORE Act project goals, RESTORE Act eligible activities and county RESTORE Act project priorities.

RESTORE Act funding can be matched with other sources of federal funding.
