The National Purchasing Institute (NPI) awarded Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners Purchasing Department with their Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® award. This 2008 annual award is earned by those organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership attributes of the procurement organization. Pinellas County is one of the 10 Florida Counties this year to earn the award. There are 67 counties in Florida.
The Purchasing Department, with the authorization of the Board of County Commissioners, is responsible for the procurement of all materials and most services utilized by the County.
