Project Overview
Pinellas County and the City of Safety Harbor have partnered in the replacement of the pedestrian bridge connecting the north end of Bayshore Drive to Philippe Park. The bridge was originally built in 1984 and has outlived its useful life. The bridge will be replaced with a 12-foot-wide steel truss bridge. Sidewalk connections to the bridge will be improved to allow better access for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Project Schedule
- Design Start: March 2018
- Design End: November 2018
- Construction Start: December 2019
- Construction End: August 2020
This project is funded through settlement funds from the Deepwater Horizon Restoration and Recovery Funds and an interlocal agreement with the City of Safety Harbor.
