Project ID# 001020A
Project Location
NE Coachman Road at Old Coachman Road, Clearwater
Project Overview
Pinellas County Public Works, through the county's Capital Improvement Program, is making improvements at the intersection of NE Coachman Road (SR 590) and Old Coachman Road (CR 525) in Clearwater. The improvements will enhance pedestrian, bicyclist and motorist safety as well as support the efficient flow of motorist in the area by optimizing traffic operations to minimize congestion.
Improvements include roadway widening for the addition of left turn lanes on each of the four intersecting roadways, paved shoulders with bike lanes, along with the resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation of the existing roadway. ADA-compliant sidewalks will be constructed along the roadway to connect to the Florida Department of Transportationls (FDOT) sidewalk project on NE Coachman Road (SR 590) and provide trail connectivity to the Duke Energy Florida and Ream Wilson Trails. The mast arm signals at the intersection will be upgraded to accommodate the new lane configuration and the railroad crossing arms will be replaced. Road construction was delayed due to utility relocations and heavy rains, the project is set for completion in June 2020.
