131st Street North Intersection Improvements

131st Street N. at 82nd Avenue N. and 86th Avenue N., Seminole
Pinellas County Public Works, through the county’s Capital Improvement Program, is making intersection improvements on 131st Street N., at 82nd Avenue N. and 86th Avenue N., in Seminole. The project objective is to improve safety and provide for a higher capacity corridor to better meet the transportation needs for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
This roadway is heavily traveled due to the proximity of four schools; Bauder Elementary School, Seminole Middle School, Seminole High School and Career Academies of Seminole. The improvements will replace a 5-foot sidewalk with a 10-foot sidewalk along the east side of 131st St. N and on the north side of 86th Ave. N, dedicated turn lanes are being provided into the existing school facilities, drainage conveyance improvements along 131st St. N and 86th Ave. N, and water quality and discharge reduction are being provided with a modification to the existing stormwater facility at Seminole Middle School.

This project is funded through the Penny for Pinellas program, the county’s local infrastructure sales tax.
