The Planning Department works to ensure that the needs of the County’s citizens and businesses are adequately provided for as the County continues to grow and redevelop.

This is accomplished for the Board of County Commissioners through planning at the county and neighborhood levels, and by undertaking special projects and programs to improve our communities.

The Planning Department also provides staff support for the Metropolitan Planning Organization, which oversees countywide transportation planning.

The Department’s planning efforts are directed toward Pinellas County becoming an even better place to live, work, and visit.
