Special Events / Weddings

 

Pinellas County parks and preserves are perfect venues for making wonderful memories. If you are planning a wedding or other special event, you are most welcome to search for the ambiance that is right for you. Pinellas County Parks are host to hundreds of special events each year. Pinellas County supports events to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.

 

General Information

Individuals and organizations that wish to conduct a special event at a Pinellas County Park must submit a Special Event Permit Application

 

Applications must be submitted a minimum of ninety (90) days prior the event, but no earlier than one (1) year in advance. Event applications will be reviewed and if approved, the event organizer will be notified of any requirements and applicable fees necessary for the event to take place. If event organizer requires use of a shelter, the shelter reservation should be made independently of the Special Event Application; shelter reservation fees will apply. 

 

Shelter reservations do not guarantee an event will be approved nor does a Special Event application have precedence in shelter reservations.

 

Any vendor providing services in a County Park must provide proof of insurance as well as indemnification for the County. This is a safeguard for our residents and visitors.

Process:

Pinellas County has provided information related to our application process, facility use and special events. It is the responsibility of the applicant to determine that all federal/city/state/etc. requirements have been met and that all permits have been obtained. Special Events & Facility Use Guidelines.

Fee Structure:

 

A. Special Events:
Attendance 1-50	$50 per day, plus tax
Attendance 51-150	$150 per day, plus tax
Attendance 151-300	$300 per day, plus tax
Attendance 301-1,000	$500 per day, plus tax
Attendance 1,001-2,500	$750 per day, plus tax
Attendance 2,501-5,000	$1,000 per day, plus tax
Attendance 5,001+	$2,000 per day, plus tax
B. Weddings:
Weddings (non commercial) - fees may vary by park
Attendance 1-50	$50 per day, plus tax
Attendance over 51	$100 per day, plus tax
Weddings (supported by commercial vendor)
Fee does not vary by attendance, but     may vary by park	$150 per day, plus tax
C. Picnic Shelter Reservations

  • Please Note: It is important to call this vendor even if you want a wedding with just a few people on the beach. The vendor will know what event is already scheduled on the beach; so as not to disrupt a scheduled wedding. Weddings held at a picnic shelter in Sand Key Park are not required to contact the vendor (if pictures are going to be taken on the beach, vendor must be notified) and can be handled separately by filling out the special event permit application.
