Shell Key Preserve - Camping Information & Permit

Obtaining a Permit:

Camping permits are available at no cost to campers. Shell Key Camping Permit does not include the Fort De Soto boat ramp & parking fee. Boat ramp fee is a separate permit. Overnight parking is allowed at the Fort De Soto boat ramp only. Any user parking at North Beach and Arrowhead Picnic areas are subject to a parking citation. Permittee must possess valid photo identification along with their valid, signed camping permit or electronic permit while camping. To be considered valid, a permit must:

 

• Include complete and accurate camper information that has been received by the Fort De Soto Campground Office.
• Conform to restrictions regarding the maximum party size and maximum number of consecutive days.
• Acknowledge that all members of the party will abide by the rules by checking the "I agree" box.
• Follow Shell Key Preserve Rules
• New camping rule! -Campfires and other open fires are permitted in the designated camping area only, from October 1 through April 30. No camp fires allowed from May 1 through September 30 due to turtle nesting, violations will result is a $118 fine.

Click on Camping Permit form Type in the information required for each text field Read the rules and acknowledge acceptance by checking the "I agree" box to show you will abide by them. Press the SUBMIT button near the bottom of the form so that the word Success appears in the permit page. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address typed into the form that includes: the information submitted map of the camping area park rules Print the confirmation email or the Printer Friendly receipt that appears in the web page once the Submit button is selected. Take the completed camping permit with acknowleging agreement of the rules checked, along with photo identification, with you while camping.	If desired, type in the information required. Print the Camping Permit form If the information was not typed in, hand print it on the printed form. Read the rules and check "I agree" box to show you will abide by them. Fax the completed form to the Fort De Soto Park FAX: (727) 552-1863. or Mail the copy to the Fort De Soto Park, 3500 Pinellas Bayway, Tierra Verde, FL (Make a copy of the completed form with the acknowleging agreement of the rules checked before mailing.) Take the completed camping permit with acknowleging agreement of the rules checked, along with photo identification, with you while camping.
