Wait on the curb before crossing the street.
WALK:Look both ways. Proceed safely across the street.
DON'T WALK: Make no attempt to cross the street when the DON'T WALK sign is lit.
- FLASHING DON'T WALK: If the flashing DON'T WALK signal comes on while you are crossing the street- DON'T PANIC- finish crossing in a safe manner. DO NOT start crossing the street from the curb if the signal is flashing, for there is not enough time to cross safely.

If you must walk along a roadway with no sidewalk.

Make certain eye contact is made with the driver before crossing in front of a waiting car.

` 6. Cross the Street with a Group When Possible: A group is easier to see than just one person.
7. Cross Only at Designated Crosswalks: Many busy intersections have Pedestrian Crossing Signals which make crossing the street safer if they are used properly.
