Now you can record and save video clips

A new feature now available is the ability to record and save any of our video streams directly to your computer for personal use. This new record feature works for both the live video stream (start and stop recording whenever you wish) and also the entire video archive. The result is the same as downloading video files which can then be saved to disk, used in Powerpoint presentations, etc. at no cost.

Click to Download real playerThe record process is extremely simple. To enable recording, you need to have the latest free version of Real Player (RealPlayer 11 Basic) which you can download here 

Once you've installed the Free Real Player 11, simply click any of our streaming video links to start playing, then select the record button as depicted in the image below. Once you're done, simply select stop and save the file to your hard drive. That's all there is to it!

Another very popular feature is the use of Playlists. A playlist is a menu of options to select form multiple entry points into a video. For instance, all BCC meetings include many agenda items, each of which can be accessed via the playlist associated with each indexed video file in our archive.

About Pinellas County Video Streaming
This service streams live and archived video of Pinellas 18.  This service increases citizen access to the public meetings that are televised on Pinellas 18, available to those who subscribe to cable television in Pinellas County. Streaming video can be viewed from anywhere in the world via the Internet.
 
Where Does The Video Come From?
During meetings, the live telecast of the Pinellas County Government Channel is being captured and broadcast over the internet.  After the meeting, the internet broadcast is archived and indexed.  The indexed video allows you to jump directly to agenda items of interest.
 
What Software Do I Need?
Pinellas County Streaming video uses the industry-standard Real format, utilizing "Surestream" multiple bandwidth streaming, minimal buffering, Playlists and user-enabled recording. You will need RealPlayer software, which can be download here.  This software is free - the free version that supports playlists is called "RealPlayer 11 Basic" . Click to Download real player
