STARS (Success Training and Retention Services) is a unique and innovative employment readiness training program. In addition to being a division of the Pinellas County Department of Health and Human Services, STARS is also a licensed affiliate of the internationally replicated, Harlem, New York-based STRIVE model program, which has been operating successfully for nearly 25 years.
STARS is addressing a critical need – preparing the inexperienced, unemployed, and underemployed residents of Pinellas County to meet current workforce demands. Through a series of comprehensive and dynamic activities, workshop participants become actively involved in their own growth process and acquire a heightened sense of self-esteem, empowerment, and are equipped with the tools to build a better future.
Upon successful completion of the workshop, job placement assistance is provided, along with lifetime support and services. Eligibility requires that participants are residents of Pinellas County.
