Get Medical Care on Wheels in the Community. . .

arrow A look at the program...

The mobile unit is a medical office on wheels. The staff includes a medical director, examiner, nurses and case managers. Pinellas County residents can receive basic health care on the mobile medical unit at no charge. Emergency services are not provided on the unit.

The unit travels to more than a dozen locations in Pinellas County serving homeless residents who have no insurance. This program is funded in part by the Bureau of Primary Health Care and is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQCHC) of the homeless.

This program was recently expanded to meet spikes in uninsured populations. Funding for this expansion of services was provided by the Bureau of Primary Health Care as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Note: Mobile medical services for uninsured adults and children are no longer available.
