Rental Housing - Mixed-income Communities
Home ownership is not for everyone. Whether by circumstance or by choice, many residents continue to need rental housing. The Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County (HFA) shares a widely held belief in the value of mixed-income communities. Leading a national trend, the HFA has historically resisted attempts to build large, all low-income communities, particularly for family housing. Not only are mixed-income communities more successful financially, but they also offer a more diverse and interesting place to live and they give more choices to people of all incomes. These attractive and well-maintained communities are assets to their respective neighborhoods.
