Time Traveler:
This program, created by teachers
for teachers, will deliver a unique way to involve
your class in getting a real sense and feel for
Florida’s past.
As you travel through this interactive CD,
consider this a travel book to plan your journey. It will
enrich your trip but the trip on its own is a meaningful
experience. Many of the main essential learning
strategies can be accomplished by experiencing the
Time Traveler activities on the day of your excursion
to Heritage Village. |

Map Tracker:
This program, created by teachers for teachers, will deliver a unique way to involve your class in getting a real sense and feel for how neighborhoods of the past have changed over time. It is designed to connect both the Pinellas County Social Studies Program and Sunshine State Standards. Students will have the opportunity to experience activities that bring to life some of the differences and similarities of people, places and things changing through the years. |

Dirt to Dining:
This program, created by teachers for teachers, will deliver a unique way to involve your class in getting a real sense and feel for how the people of old Pinellas relied on the land and its bounty for the food on their table. Though most of agricultural Pinellas has disappeared, the tourism industry still relies on food service to sustain the millions of guests that visit the county each year. Seafood, southern cuisine, fast food and ethnic foods from all over the world make up the savory landscape of today’s Pinellas.
Students will have the opportunity to experience life in rural Pinellas of long ago:
- Helping with the many chores that make a garden grow
- Bringing their bounty to trade with the store
- Preparing, cooking and serving up a taste from the past
- Celebrating a good day’s work with fun and games
