Learning how to make every day an Earth Day will be an important part of the celebration. Pinellas Board of County Commissioners Chair Ronnie Duncan will welcome visitors and make introductions. Exhibits and experts will share tips and fun ways to protect the environment, save energy and conserve natural resources.
Families can help their children learn simple things to do around the home to reduce the environmental impacts of their everyday lives. Children can also take part in nature-friendly activities and crafts such as tree planting and butterfly encounters. A small material cost will be charged for building a birdhouse.
Foot-stomping entertainment will include storytelling and live music. Food and beverages will be sold to satisfy appetites worked up during all the fun.
