at Weedon: Tiny Workers: Ants in Your Backyard

This program is designed to introduce pre-school
children to the wonders of the natural world. Every
second and fourth Thursday of each month, children
are treated to a variety of stories and hands-on
activities that connect them to their environment.
This week presents Tiny Workers: Ants in Your Backyard
by Nancy Loewen. Ants! You might not want to see
these critters at your next picnic, but they are
fascinating little workers. This book takes a child’s
imagination underground to explore an anthill and
learn about these busy critters. This program also
includes a hands-on craft and other games and activities.
There is a fee of $1 per pre-school participant.
Spaces are limited so register early! Recommended
ages: 3-5.

This week presents Spotted Beetles: Ladybugs in
Your Backyard by Nancy Loewen. Did you know that
there are over 5,000 kinds of ladybugs in the world?
Youngsters will learn about the ladybug’s favorite
food, how long it lives, and more in this fun and
light-hearted book. This program also includes
a hands-on craft, games and other activities. There
is a fee of $1 per pre-school participant. Spaces
are limited so register early! Recommended ages:
3-5.

Backyard by Nancy Loewen. What’s that flying around
your porch light at night? Moths! This week focuses
on these fascinating fliers, including what they
do and eat in the garden. This program also includes
a hands-on craft and other games and activities.
There is a fee of $1 per pre-school participant.

features Gotta Go! Gotta Go! by Sam Swope. A“creepy-crawlie
bug” just has to get to Mexico. Join us to discover
the mystery of what she is and why she must undertake
this long journey.We will complete a craft project
after the story. Pre-registration is required for
