Terms of Submission

This is a public meeting. Submitters who elect to participate agree to conduct themselves in a civil manner. Questions and comments may not contain any abusive, profane, inflammatory, obscene or racist language in accordance with FCC regulations.

Blog submissions and remarks must concern the topic of the specified eTownHall meeting event. By electing to participate, contributors agree to allow the review of submissions by the blog moderators and, further, allow for blog submissions to be qualified for application and relevance to the stated topic. Any blog submissions construed to be off topic will remain in an on hold queue and will become part of the public record at the conclusion of the event.

Remarks may not solicit, promote, or discuss any commercial product or activity not currently under consideration by the Commission.

Blog entries are limited to 1,000 characters in the interest of providing maximum participation by interested parties.

All questions and comments that comply with the terms of participation will be posted in the blog but repetitive submissions will not be re-posted in the interest of time. Unless originated by the Blog Moderator, any comments or answers posted in the blog are opinion and do not reflect the views of the Board of County Commissioners.

County commissioners and/or staff will attempt to address as many questions and comments as possible, time permitting and depending on the volume of submissions.

No e-mails will be taken during the live portion of the eTownHall meeting.

Public Records Law Requirements

This eTownHall meeting is a public event and Pinellas County will be required by Florida statute to retain all comments/questions and responses as public record.

Any information submitted to Pinellas County, including but not limited to feedback, questions, comments, and suggestions are public record subject to public inspection pursuant to law. §119 Florida Statutes declares that it is the policy of this state that all state, county, and municipal records shall be open for personal inspection by any person, and thus information collected by the County resulting from the use of this event may be subject to examination and inspection upon request, if such information is a public record and not otherwise protected from disclosure by statute.

Pinellas County will collect no personal information about you when you participate in this event unless you choose to submit that information.


For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this government computer system employs commercial software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Except for authorized law enforcement investigations, no other attempts are made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw data logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with State guidelines for records management and retention.

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986 and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.

Notice of any complaint of copyright infringement, intellectual property rights, slander, libel or general negligence shall be reported to: The Pinellas County Communications Department, 333 Chestnut Street, Clearwater, FL 33756, or by phone (727) 464-4600, or via email at Submitter content removed from this site based upon a complaint of copyright infringement may be challenged and shall proceed consistent with 47 U.S.C. §512(g)(2) and (3).

Without limitation, any user of this site shall not list any item or link or post any related material that (a) infringes any third-party intellectual property rights (including copyright, trademark, patent, and trade secrets) or other proprietary rights (including rights of publicity or privacy); (b) constitutes libel or slander or is otherwise defamatory; or (c) is counterfeited, illegal, stolen, or fraudulent. Repeat violators of these terms of participation shall have their access to this site terminated without further notice.

The submitter shall indemnify Pinellas County for any material submitted which infringes on the copyright of another; is libelous as defined by Florida Statute §836; violates the privacy rights of another or creates liability against Pinellas County for the acts of the submitter.
