We appreciate the comments and questions received during
our first eTownHall. Our goal during the eTownHall event was to answer as many of the questions that time allowed. The common theme of the questions that were answered during the eTownHall related to:
The consolidation of departments, services and facilities
The number of managers and supervisors compared to employees
Reduced parks hours and implementation of fees at facilities
It is still early in the budget process, and many decisions will be made over the upcoming months. The county administrator is reviewing proposed budget reductions of those departments under the Board of County Commissioners.

The State constitution gives the Board of County Commissioners the power to adopt ordinances (local laws), approve the County budget and set the millage rate, and establish the requirements for the departments under its control. The Board governs all unincorporated areas of the county directly; municipalities may call upon the County for specialized services.
