Rental Housing Information for Tenants

Home ownership is not for everyone. Whether by circumstance or by choice, many residents continue to need rental housing.
The Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County and the Community Development Department share a widely held belief in the value of mixed-income communities.
Leading a national trend, the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County has historically resisted attempts to build large, all low-income communities, particularly for family housing. Not only are mixed-income communities more successful financially, but they also offer a more diverse and interesting place to live and they give more choices to people of all incomes.
Pinellas County is fortunate to have so many fine examples of economically, socially and racially diverse communities. These attractive and well-maintained communities continue to thrive. Without exception, they are assets to their respective neighborhoods.
