Requirements for Attaching Plywood for Window Protection

Wood structural panels with a minimum thickness of 7 / 16 inch (11.1 mm) and a maximum span of 8 feet (2438 mm) shall be permitted for opening protection in one- and two-story buildings.

Frame Construction

Pinellas County requirements for frame construction requires the panels to be precut so that they can be attached to the framing surrounding the glazed opening. Panels shall be predrilled as required for the anchorage method and all required hardware shall be provided. Each panel shall also be labeled with respect to the opening it is to cover.

Masonry Construction

Pinellas County requirements for masonry construction requires the panels to be precut so that they can be attached to the area surrounding the glazed opening. The attachment hardware shall be corrosion-resistant and the anchors shall be permanently installed on the building.
