FY13 Budget Outreach...
LOOKING TO THE FUTURE AND MAKING CONNECTIONS:
![]() |
As county commissioners, key county officials and community leaders work on the development of the fiscal year 2013 budget and the first stages of a strategic plan, citizens are being asked to help set the strategic direction for the community’s future as they share their views, values and vision about Pinellas County and their community.
The FY2013 budget outreach focuses on developing strategies to define the future of the community and the services that the county provides. In order to gather input from the public, three meetings were held in the community. A community forum, which included an open house and an eTownHall, was held on April 17 in partnership with St. Petersburg College, Seminole campus. Two budget information sessions were held as well, one at Safety Harbor City Hall on May 10 and another at St. Petersburg City Hall on May 15. A phone survey was conducted to gather statistically valid data on citizens’ views and an online survey offered an additional opportunity for residents to share their vision.
As the budget process continues, citizens are encouraged to continue participating in the development of the FY2013 budget. Comments can be submitted online and residents can contact county commissioners.
Public meetings will continue to be held throughout the summer, with the county commissioners voting on the adoption of the FY2013 budget on Sept.18. The new budget year will begin Oct. 1.
