Our mission, as the technology leader in Pinellas County Government, is to ensure the success of our partners by providing cost effective and innovative technology solutions with the goal of improving the lives of Pinellas County Citizens.  The Business Technology Services (BTS) Department exists to provide solutions to real business problems and opportunities through technology in pursuit of customer satisfaction as a "Service Provider of Choice".

 

The BTS Board and department were established under an Inter-local Agreement between the Constitutional Officers, the County Administrator and the Six Circuit Judiciary. Under the direction of the BTS Board and the leadership of the BTS Chief Information Office (CIO), BTS collaborates and partners with all BTS Board members and their respective departments to provide technology solutions to business strategies that have enhanced the mission of Pinellas County Government. 

 

BTS is the center of technology leadership and knowledge throughout the county. They incorporate industry standard governance processes and knowledgeable professional support staff. They provide Enterprise and Custom Information Technology solutions across the County. BTS maintains and supports the main and backup data centers which house all computing systems that drive the counties large business application portfolio. They also support the countywide interconnecting network.

 

As the county business technology integrator, BTS has implemented many large scale integrations including the Oracle Project Unified System (OPUS) System which integrates finance, accounting, payables, budgeting and human resources; the Judiciary Consolidated Case Management System (CCMS) which integrates Civil, Probate and Criminal functions along with Attorney Management; the Public Safety Complex (PSC) which integrates the main Data Center, E911 and Emergency Operations and the Geographic Information System (GIS) which integrates countywide mapping.

 

To engage citizens, BTS answers citizen demands for more responsive and self-service government by providing many citizen facing solutions that have enabled more ubiquitous access to public information as well as easy access to online and mobile services.
