Project Update
The contractor will complete the majority of the work at the bridge this week and then demobilize. The contractor is scheduled to return in mid-to-late May to begin the sanitary sewer line repairs and final canal dredging.
Project Overview
Pinellas County is replacing the Westwinds and Crosswinds Bridges as part of its ongoing effort to maintain and operate the network of over 140 bridges located throughout the County. Pinellas County Public Works, through the County’s Capital Improvement Program, is replacing the aging bridges on Westwinds Drive over the Westwinds Canal and Crosswinds Drive over the Crosswinds Canal in Palm Harbor. The new bridges will meet current design criteria and provide wider shoulders and raised sidewalks on both sides allowing for a safer pedestrian facility.
