Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program - Health and Human Services – Assists low-income seniors (60+) with energy bills such as electric, gas, and fuel oil. The program also provides blankets, heaters, fans or repairs to air conditioning/heating systems. Eligible residents can receive these benefits twice a year-once in the heating season and once in the cooling season. Financial Assistance/Emergency Financial Assistance Programs - Health and Human Services - Assists county residents who may need temporary help in paying rent/mortgage, utility bills or grocery bills because of illness or disability. Families with minor children may receive one-time assistance with a financial emergency. You'll find out who may be eligible for this program and what other services are available. Recommended Audience:  Adults (18 +)

Homelessness in Pinellas - Health and Human Services - You'll hear about the causes of homelessness, who the homeless are, and what the county and various nonprofit agencies are doing to address this largely invisible problem. Recommended Audience:  High school and adults

Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) - Health and Human Services-Offers short-term financial help and services to persons who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Learn about this new program that is federally-funded thru the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Recommended Audience:  High school and adults

Medical Home-Your One-Stop Health Center - Health and Human Services – Learn about this exciting new concept of providing medical care for low-income uninsured citizens living in Pinellas County.  Medical homes provide primary medical care, limited specialty care, relief-of-pain dental services, wellness and prevention services, mental health and substance abuse services, and prescriptions. Find out who qualifies, the medical home locations, how the program works and who can take advantage of these essential services.  Recommended Audience:  Adults (18 +)

Mobile Medical UnitHealth and Human Services – The Mobile Medical Van provides outreach medical care to homeless persons living in Pinellas County. Learn about how these services are provided and how this service benefits our community. Recommended Audience:  Presentation can be tailored for all ages: elementary, middle, high school and adults.

Social Action Funding Program - Health and Human Services - The Department of Health and Human Services distributes funds, through a grant application process, to not-for-profit community social service agencies that address a variety of local needs. Learn more about this process and how you may participate. Recommended Audience:  High school and adults

Success Training and Retention Services (STARS) - Health and Human Services - STARS is an employment readiness program. Through interactive examples; groups will be shown how the comprehensive 20-day workshop eliminates negative behaviors that inhibit success by improving attitudes, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life for the client and their families. Learn how to refer clients and how our two-year commitment to our clients benefits everyone. Recommended Audience:  High school and adults

Summer Food Program - Health and Human Services – Nutritious meals are provided during the summer for low-income, school-age children participating in approved summer recreation programs. Children living near an approved summer food site may also walk-up and be served a nutritious meal. Learn who may qualify or how to become involved as a site provider. Recommended Audience: Parents/grandparents of school age children and summer recreation program providers interested in becoming an approved site.

Veterans and Their Benefits - Health and Human Services/Veterans Services - Find out what benefits are available to veterans and their families (including widows and widowers of veterans) and how to apply for these benefits. Recommended Audience:  Adults (18 +)
