Local Planning Agency (LPA)Under Sec. 163.3174, F.S., each local government is required to establish a Local Planning Agency (LPA). The LPA consists of appointed members selected from the community. It has the responsibility for making recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding development of, or changes to, the Comprehensive Plan. The LPA also reviews amendments to the Land Development Code (including zoning changes), and a variety of other items, to ensure that they are consistent with, and serve to implement, the Comprehensive Plan.
