Community Planning and Overlays
East Lake Tarpon Community Overlay
- The first of two public hearings by the Board of County Commissioners to discuss the proposed East Lake Tarpon Community Overlay is scheduled for January 24, 2012. The proposed Overlay seeks to establish a community vision and specific objectives and policies in the Pinellas County Comprehensive Plan that define East Lake Tarpon as a distinct unincorporated community, and provide the County guidance when making land use and other decisions regarding the area. Following the public hearing, the proposal will be sent to the State for review. Final action by the Board at a second public hearing is expected in the Spring.
