Education

The Environmental Support Services Section provides education to a variety of constituents. Information centers on stormwater issues, exotic and invasive species control and seagrass protection.

• Elementary, Middle and High Schools as well as citizen groups request talks on environmental topics through the Pinellas County Speaker's Bureau. The Bureau then forwards the request to the most appropriate Division or Section. A speaker then confirms the topic with the requesting party. Seagrass protection seems to be the most favored topic.
  
  
• The Section regularly attends environmental expositions, conferences and festivals and presents studies and ideas at these functions. These forums are excellent opportunities to exchange ideas and influence decision-makers with sound judgment and scientific studies.
  
  
• Public Access Television - The Section has done several television shows highlighting exotic species control and the importance of the function and protection of seagrass.
