2009 Summer Camps
Presented by Heinrich Ecological Services

Noted herpetologist Mr. George Heinrich of Heinrich Ecological Services will offer his ever-popular summer camps this year at the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Education Center (BCPEEC) and the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center (WIPCNHC). Please contact the centers to learn more about these natural-history and ecology camp experiences.

Wildlife Ecology Camp at Weedon Island Preserve
This summer camp is designed for children with a strong interest in nature. Campers explore the ecology and conservation of Florida’s wildlife and wildlands with field biologist and environmental educator George L. Heinrich. A blend of classroom and field sessions includes hands-on activities, presentations, and exploration of the Preserve’s rich biodiversity, where campers practice their nature detective skills.

Dates:
July 13 – July 17, 2009
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Who should attend?
Students entering 2nd – 6th grade in August 2009 and are between the ages of 7 – 11 are encouraged to attend.

Registration Fee:
$125/camper/week 
Each session is limited to 30 campers and registration is on a first-come basis.

Herpetology Camp at Weedon Island Preserve
This week-long nature camp has the inquisitive child in mind. Campers explore the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles side-by-side with George Heinrich, a professional herpetologist. Through up-close encounters with a variety of animals such as gopher tortoises, frogs, lizards, and snakes, campers learn about amphibian and reptile ecology and conservation. 

Dates:
July 20 – July 24, 2009
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Who should attend?
Students entering 2nd – 6th grade in August 2009 and are between the ages of 7 – 11 are encouraged to attend.

Registration Fee:
$125/camper/week
Each session is limited to 30 campers and registration is on a first-come basis.
