Clearwater Neighborhood Housing Services (CNHS) offers free homebuyer workshops or classes designed to assist individuals and families with purchasing a home. It is an 8 hour class that includes such topics as shopping for a home; obtaining a mortgage; closing on a home; and life as a homeowner.

Learn the A-Z's of becoming a home owner and how to increase you monthly savings from the following classes. "Family Budgeting" (5 classes are required for certification) and "Getting a Mortgage" (2 classes are required for certification) are offered free to individuals who are preparing to purchase their own home. These classes meet the home buyer training requirement for many specialized mortgages and local programs.

Pinellas County Library Tapes
Video tapes entitled "Family Budgeting" and "How to Get a Mortgage" are available through Pinellas County libraries. These tapes are captioned for the hearing impaired and "How to Get a Mortgage" is also available in Spanish.
