About the HFA

For more than twenty-five years, the Pinellas County Housing Finance Authority (HFA) has issued nearly one billion dollars in first-time home buyer loans and provided more than 4,100 rental apartments. We are proud of the numbers, but even more, we are proud of the reputation that the Authority has built. The HFA has become a leader in the industry, recognized for our innovative financing structures, our responsible management, successful programs, and a keen devotion to our mission. We have forged many successful partnerships with other counties and local cities and by utilizing joint resources, these participating jurisdictions and the HFA have created exciting programs and housing opportunities for the citizens of our communities. Whenever possible, the Authority customizes products to address the specific needs of our diverse applicants. Whether that involves helping a home buyer with down payment assistance, or contributing dollars to finance affordable, quality rental homes, we're always open to finding ways to house our neighbors. Through the work we do, families are provided with an opportunity to live, work and go to school in the community they call home. Some become homeowners and some find quality rental units in our mixed-income communities. The mission of the Housing Finance Authority is to provide financing for decent, safe and affordable housing, and we take this responsibility very seriously. We look forward to continuing this mission for many years to come, with the knowledge that we ARE making a difference.
