Anthony M. Jones, Director
Pinellas County Community Development and
Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County

 

As Director of Community Development for Pinellas County, Florida, Anthony Jones manages housing and neighborhood initiatives for the both the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County and County's Community Development Department. Anthony has been with Pinellas for 20 years, advancing through a variety of positions. As public finance managers, the department is responsible for the annual distribution of up to $40 Million dollars in funding and bonding authority from Federal, State, and local funding sources. As public policy advocates, Anthony's departments plans, develops, and implements neighborhood revitalization, community improvement and housing policy strategies as well as activities that promote home ownership and rental housing opportunities. Under his leadership Pinellas County's programs have won National awards.

 

Immediately before venturing into the community development field, Anthony worked as an environmentalist specializing in air quality management and as an analytical chemist with several local consulting firms. Anthony is formerly a Board member of the Florida Community Loan Fund. He is also former vice-president of the Florida Housing Coalition's and former vice-president of the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless. Anthony is a founding director of Tampa Bay Harvest and the HomeBuyers Club of Tampa Bay and has also served as a board member of the Pinellas County AIDS Coalition and the Mustard Seed Inn.
