Ever wonder what happens when you call 9-1-1 for help? When you dial 9-1-1 in Pinellas County, you will reach one of the highest rated 9-1-1 Communications Centers in the country. Our highly trained Operators will ask a few key questions as quickly as possible to get the right help to the correct location. If you have a POLICE Emergency, we will quickly verify the nature of the emergency to determine if paramedics are needed, (robbery, shooting, assault) and the location where the emergency is occurring to ensure we connect you with the correct law enforcement agency. Your call is then transferred to that agency. If you have a FIRE Emergency, we will verify the type of fire (house, car, trash) to determine the correct fire response, verify the location of the fire, and dispatch the fire trucks. We will remain in contact with the fire department via radios until the emergency is over. If you have a MEDICAL Emergency, we will verify the type of emergency (heart attack, choking, injury from a fall, etc), the exact location of the patient, and immediately dispatch a paramedic from the fire department along with an ambulance. We will then transfer you to a paramedic who will tell you what to do until help arrives (CPR, Choking, Bleeding, etc.) How did we do ???We need your feedback to continually improve our service.
