Utilities Customer Service Hours Expanded
Holiday Rush Prompts Temporary Extension

Clearwater, Fla—Pinellas County Utilities Customer Service will extend its hours to help customers during the rush of the holiday season. Customer Service representatives will be available to respond to customer calls from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on January 7 – 9, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10. Extended hours will continue Monday, January 12 through Friday, January 16, with staff available to respond to customer calls from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. more>> (posted 12-32-08)

Pinellas County Extension Master Gardeners Open Plant Clinic

Do you have questions about a brown spot spreading across the lawn? Do you need help identifying a troublesome bug in the garden? Pinellas County Extension Master Gardeners will share their expertise at a new Plant Clinic designed to answer those questions and many more. Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties Close Entire Friendship TrailBridge Following Report

A Forest Grows in Alligator Lake Management Area

James Beirne, left, and Ignacio Stebor, preserve maintenance workers, help to plant at Alligator Lake Management Area.A young forest was planted at Alligator Lake Management Area in Clearwater, thanks to a donation from the NFL Environmental Program’s urban and community forestry initiative. With 389 small trees purchased from a grant administered by the State of Florida Division of Forestry, 30 volunteers and staff members spent the morning of Dec. 17 digging, lifting and carefully spreading soil at the 2.5-acre environmentally sensitive area. more>> (posted 12-18-08)

Bikes Donated for the Holidays

Jerry Irizarry, senior code enforcement officer, started the bicycle drive 22 years ago with two small bikes like this one. The effort has grown each year.Pinellas County employees rolled 85 bicycles out of the Pinellas County Courthouse in Clearwater Thursday morning for a good cause. The bikes, purchased by money that was donated by staff throughout the year, was delivered to the St. Petersburg and Clearwater offices of the Health and Human Services Department. more>> (posted 12-18-08)

Notice of Date Change for Pinellas County Delegation Meeting

Pinellas County Legistative Delegation - Notice of ChangeThe second Pinellas County Legislative Delegation Meeting and Public Hearing will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Petersburg College’s Clearwater campus in the Auditorium located at 2465 Drew Street in Clearwater. This is a date change made necessary by a conflict with legislative meetings in Tallahassee. On this date, final action will be taken on Local Bills which were introduced at the December 3 meeting.
